Unfinished Houses

Show notes

Dutch pop band The Nits will turn 50 soon – an incredible length of time for any band. In these five decades, this very special band has gone its own path, from Sixties power pop influenced by the Beatles, the Kinks or the Hollies via new wave sounds informed by XTC or Kraftwerk to then finding their very own soundscapes. In all this time, the band has recorded some 25 albums and many singles, has scored hits such as «Nescio» or «In the Dutch Mountains» and played countless concerts in Europe and beyond. Even though this is a band that always looks to the future, now seems the right moment to look back at their unique œuvre. This first episode concentrates on the expectations of this series of podcast episodes. Eric Facon talks to core members Henk Hofstede, Rob Kloet and Robert Jan Stips. Production and Design Darren Hayne.
